MEDIUM-HIGH PUPPY ENERGY
GOOD WITH HUMANS (ADULTS AND KIDS) AND DOGS

Just when you thought our adoptables couldn’t get any cuter, we’re here to tell you that Bear is officially on the market! Born October 11, 2025, Bear was surrendered alongside her sister Teddy to our rescue partner @manitobaanimalalliance, where they were living outside in northern Manitoba. Though her beautiful coat does help keep her warm, she’s much happier as an indoor pup! It’s time for Bear to find her family!
Bear is a little particular when meeting new humans and dogs. Larger dogs intimidate her and she tends to yelp and avoid being too close. With humans, Bear has taken issue with some men (though not with her male foster!), and will give a bit of lip before cooling off. Her reactions are never aggressive, but her adoptive family will want to ensure all introductions to new two- or four-legged creatures are slow and steady. With dogs her own size, Bear plays eagerly and enthusiastically. We don’t think she knows that pretty soon SHE will be the big dog in town, so we suspect this apprehension towards larger dogs will be short-lived! As for kids, she’s not been tested, but as with any puppy we always recommend interactions are closely monitored.
Bear is a gentle greeter who loves to give kisses, so we’re confident she’ll be just fine around youngsters! As a puppy, Bear is doing a lot of learning and growing each day! Her basic obedience is coming along nicely. Her leash skills need some work – she’s a puller and a zigzagger – but nothing that some proper training can’t correct! Bear receives three 20-30 minutes walks per day (weather dependent, of course), plus a few shorter potty excursions. A 30-minute walk is enough to knock Bear out for a few hours and once she’s ready to get outside again, she will let her fosters know! Though this is standard puppy energy, Bear is shaping up to be an active girl who prefers activity over being a couch potato, so she’d pair very well with a family who enjoys getting outside! She’s acclimated well to the sounds of the big city, so we know she’d be fine as downtown or suburb gal (note: no condos … Bear will be much too big!).
One of Bear’s bigger hurdles will be her separation anxiety. She does not like being alone when her fosters are home, and it’s unknown how long it takes for her to settle in her crate when her fosters leave the house. The upside is that Bear is just a puppy so her adoptive family can deal with this right away. Speaking of being just a puppy, Bear is deep in her teething phase and loves to take it out on cardboard and paper! It’s easy enough to redirect her with toys or correction, but take our word: those puppy teeth are sharp! Thankfully Bear loves a bully stick or frozen carrot snack, which is a much better use for those teeth!
Bear is 95% potty trained (save for a small excited pee when she sees her fosters in the morning) and crate trained. She doesn’t go in on her own but does fall for the ol’ treat trick and is able to sleep quietly all night.
Bear is microchipped and has had her first round of puppy shots. Her adoption fee will include her spay at six months and remaining puppy shots.
If you’re looking for the perfect pal to get you hyped about the winter AND become your furever snuggle buddy, look no further than little Bear!
