BOSLEY.

JUST A BABY | M | NORTHERN x
MEDIUM-HIGH PUPPY ENERGY
GOOD WITH HUMANS (ADULTS & OLDER KIDS) AND DOGS

Though the cold days of winter are well behind us, there’s still one little snowball lingering about and he’s ready to find his family! Born around February 11, Bosley is just a baby who comes to us from Nunavut, where he was found wandering outside in the cold after he was unfortunately rejected by his mother. He was in pretty rough shape upon his rescue (see his recent SPOTLIGHT post for more!) but has made a full recovery and is now enjoying life as a puppy. It’s time for this little heart-melter to meet his people!

Even though he’s just a baby, Bosley already has a big personality! His fosters describe him as a fun-loving dog with a good heart and a big desire to please. He is currently being fostered with a three-year-old lab, who has been a fantastic role model for baby Bos! Since arriving with his fosters, Bosley’s only canine interactions have been with his foster brother, and it’s clear that Bos loves every minute of their time together. He is friendly and submissive and loves to play! When his brother needs a break, Bosley has no problem playing fetch or enjoying toys on his own. Bosley is a busy dog who likes to be on the move, so he’d definitely pair up well with an active family (bonus points if they come with another dog!). One of Bosley’s favourite activities is training time! He’s already learned a ton of basic commands (sit, come, crate, down, go pee – aced ‘em all!), and is working on a few others. His fosters have warned us that he is a bitey dog (more than the average puppy), so his adopter will need to be firm with him when it comes conditioning against this behavior. The good news is he’s already showing improvement in this area, which further proves that we’ve got a real smart boy on our hands!

When it comes to socializing with humans, Bosley does best with adults. He can be shy away from pets, but warms up very quickly. With kids, Bosley is great with older children but is hesitant around younger kids (he growled at a neighbour’s three-year-old). Since he’s still young, he will likely be fine around kids once he has more exposure to them, as long as there are proper introductions and supervision. Bosley is an otherwise curious and brave little pup! He’s learning to walk on a leash and loves to play in the backyard (he needs space for his zoomies!). His perfect weekend would consist of a good balance of exercise, playtime and training. Throw in some quiet time and belly rubs, and Bos will be your BFF for life!

Bosley is both potty trained and crate trained! He will sit by the back door when he needs to go outside, but his fosters have missed this cue a few times since Bos is quiet and calm while he waits. He’s been accident-free for over a week (his fosters have been paying close attention!) and he’s able to sleep from 9pm to 5am without needing a bathroom break. Bosley absolutely loves his crate! His fosters simply need to snap and say “crate!” and our boy heads right in. He falls asleep almost instantly when left alone and hasn’t shown any signs of separation anxiety. Bosley is microchipped and up to date with his vaccines. He’s currently being treated for coccidia (all treatments costs will be covered by MUTTS). His adoption fee includes his remaining puppy series shots and neuter before six months.

Bosley is a very sweet boy who is eager to make his new family happy! Though his story started off on a sad note, Bosley is smart enough to know that there’s someone out there’s who is waiting to give him a lifetime of love and he can’t wait to meet them!
