With legs for days and the softest eyes you’ve ever seen, Dana is the kind of dog who makes an impression—quietly. At first, she might hang back, giving you the cautious side-eye and a little tail-tuck. But give her a minute, a kind word, and maybe a sniff of your sleeve, and suddenly you’ve got a 44-kilogram shadow who only wants to lean on you, nuzzle her nose under your arm, and curl up beside you on the couch (or on you, if she could).
Dana’s a soulful sweetheart who thrives on calm consistency. She's blossomed beautifully in her foster home, showing more and more of her silly, affectionate side each day. While new people—especially men—can make her pause, she warms up quickly with patience and space. Once you’re in, you’re family, and she'll be your personal snuggle blanket with legs.
Her dog-to-dog greetings come with a little bark and a lot of curiosity—she’ll zoom in high-speed circles around potential playmates, which can be a lot for smaller or more timid pups. But her intentions are pure and playful, and she does best with confident, friendly dogs who can keep up or show her the ropes. A sturdy canine buddy would be a bonus!
With humans, Dana is quietly devoted. She adores kids, though she'd do best with older children simply due to her size and tendency to get a little too cuddly. She loves to follow her person from room to room, gently seeking closeness, and is learning to be okay with occasional alone time (crate treats help!).
Dana is smart and food-motivated—she’s got her “sit” and “lay down” nailed, and is learning “stay” and recall. Walks are still a work in progress, as she tends to zigzag and pull with excitement. She needs someone confident who can continue her leash training and help her build structure into her everyday routine. She’s crate-trained, house-trained (with one understandable human error), and has proven trustworthy when left alone for short periods.
While she’s mellow at home—perfect for Netflix marathons—Dana loves her outdoor time. A fenced yard is her happy place, where she can burn energy doing her “Dane zoomies” and sniff every inch like a professional botanist. She’s got a bit of a prey drive (RIP squirrels), so keep the backyard chases to the four-legged kind.
Dana is a sensitive soul with so much love to give. If you’re someone with a big heart, a calm home, and maybe a sturdy dog or two to show her the ropes, she could be your perfect match. Give her your patience, and she’ll give you her heart—leaning into every moment by your side.
