  • Up next in the Catherine O’Hara pup family is Kate McAllister! Born December 11, 2025, Kate comes to us all the way from northern Manitoba where she was rescued alongside her mom and seven siblings. This girl is far too obsessed with her people to ever forget one of them before going on vacation. If you’re looking for loyal pal who will never leave you behind, Kate is the one for you!

Much like her namesake, Kate loves being part of a big family! She hasn’t shied away from meeting anyone and is eager to make as many friends as possible. New dog approaching while on a walk? Instant friend! Kids wanting to say hello? Yes, please! Cat slinking by? Ready to back off if/when told! To Kate, there are no strangers, only friends. She’s still learning how to say hello politely: her instinct is to jump up, but her fosters are working on this. Kate is an easy and happy gal who would pair well with any family. Given her love of kids, we know she’d excel in a home with children! Dog lovers know there’s nothing like growing up with a canine best friend, and we know Kate would be an all-star companion for any lucky kid!

At home, Kate tends to stick close to her fosters and always takes advantage of the opportunity for a snuggle! She’s a playful gal who has no trouble entertaining herself for short periods, though she’s been known to drop a toy or two at her fosters’ feet once she’s tired of playing on her own! The same goes for backyard time: Kate goes out to explore the yard several times a day, but never lasts long as she’s eager to get back inside to see her fosters! The good news is that her love of being near her fosters hasn’t developed into separation anxiety. Kate is will whine in her crate when her fosters leave her Home Alone (heehee), but is quick to settle and fall asleep!

Since Kate is just a baby, her leash skills still need some work. She’s already improved with training and is eager to please – a winning combination! Her walks are capped around 20 minutes as she gets tired of walking any longer than that! Kate has learned to sit and is working on “come” and “stay.” Her love of treats and her big time smarts mean that training should continue to come easily for her! A word to the wise: Kate is deep in her puppy teething phase, which means that all hands, feet and things that are not hers are game for chewing. Her adoptive family will need to puppy-proof before bringing this gal home!

Kate is still working on her potty training. She never pees in the crate but has had accidents in the house. Kate sometimes goes to the door to be let out but also likes to sneak off to a quiet spot to do her business. Kate is microchipped and had her first round of puppy shots. She’s currently being treated for Giardia (all associated costs will be covered by MUTTS). Her adoption fee includes her remaining puppy shots and spay at six months.

Kate is ready and eager to meet her new family, and promises to always stay by their side!
