GOOD WITH HUMANS (ADULTS), DOGS AND CATS
-
Introducing our next adoptable puppy, who is cute to the MAX! Max was born in the summer and found as a stray alongside her eight littermates in a community in northern Manitoba. Equal parts sassy and affectionate, Max loves to cuddle, play in the grass, and show off those big, adorable ears! It’s time to help Max find her family!
Like most puppies, Max greets everything and everyone with extreme enthusiasm! The exception may be when she encounters larger dogs (they make her a bit nervous, but likely because she’s just a tiny bean), but she never hesitates to say hello to the human holding the leash. Meeting new humans is one of Max’s fave activities! She’ll run up, tail wagging, and smother them with licks. Though she hasn’t met kids yet, we believe her enthusiasm does not discriminate. She’s in her puppy-bitey phase, so dog-savvy kiddos would be the best fit. Max loves to play, so having kids to run around with would present a win-win for all! As for other animals, Max is intrigued by new dogs and totally fine with cats – she’d be a great solo or second pet for any family!
To keep herself busy, Max enjoys playing with her toys. Solo play can get a little boring after a few minutes so she eventually coerces her foster into engaging in some friendly tug o’ war. She loves every toy she’s been gifted and has not destroyed a single one! Because she’s teething, the temptation to chew things that aren’t hers is strong, but she totally takes the bait when redirected with a frozen rubber bone. Other favourite pastimes include playing in the grass, following her fosters around the house and cuddling on the couch! She loves any and all attention and affection, so buyer beware: this girl is a big-time smoocher with a high demand for belly rubs!
Since Max is just a baby, she’s in the early stages of leash walking. A 30-minute walk is currently enough to tire her out. Her fosters also pepper in a few other playtimes throughout the day, including right before bedtime, to ensure she’s sufficiently tuckered before hitting the hay. If her fosters are planning to crate Max before leaving the house, they make sure all of her needs are met, allowing Max to hang comfortably in her crate for up to five hours! Max is nearly potty trained: she’s down to a handful of accidents each week and is getting very good at alerting her fosters when she needs a potty break. She’s a very smart girl who’s also figured out that her little bark is a good communication tool! Max is microchipped and up to date with her vaccines. Her adoption fee will include her remaining puppy shots and spay at six months.
This little lady is bursting with personality! She cannot wait to meet her new family and see what life has in store!
