MEDIUM ENERGY
GOOD WITH HUMANS (ADULTS AND OLDER KIDS) AND DOGS

  • Millie is a soft, sweet, low‑key sweetheart with a tail that never stops wagging and a heart that’s always ready to love. She’s calm, affectionate, and very people‑focused, greeting everyone with gentle wiggles and a wagging tail. She thrives on attention, pets, and treats more than toys or wild play. She is not a high‑energy dog and would rather follow you around the apartment, curl up nearby, and enjoy quiet snuggles than chase balls all day. She is happiest when she has a comfy bed, regular strolls in the neighbourhood, and a family that makes her feel safe and adored.

Millie is very friendly with people and seems to love everyone she meets, whether on walks, at home, or even at work. She loves to meet all sorts of new people with a sniff and a snort and a nose in their personal space. She is fantastic with other dogs. She peacefully cohabitated with two other dogs in the home and loves to say hello to new dogs she walks by on the street. Due to her breed, she does snort and grumble when she breathes (a quirk of her breeding), so a dog companion who is not off-put by that would be most compatible for her. The great thing about her is she is not reactive to dogs who react to her and does happily share her space with other dogs.

She was fostered with young children and has done wonderfully. Millie does show her love by pushing herself into you, so young ones who don't mind a loving loaf pushing into them or walking over toys will be most compatible with her. She has accompanied school drop-offs and pickups, and loves the extra attention she received from all the kids.

Millie has a medium energy level but leans more toward the chill side. She enjoys two neighborhood walks a day plus a pee break. She is happy to do shorter outings when the weather is cold or rainy. She can manage stairs with encouragement and is crate‑trainable, so she could live in an apartment as long as she has a safe, cozy setup and regular potty breaks. She does not need a very active home and would be happiest in a quiet to mildly active household, ideally with someone who works from home or is around often so she does not feel alone for long stretches.

Millie is still learning basic cues and is a bit of a work‑in‑progress. She knows “walk” and “come,” but she does not always respond. “Sit” and “stay” are challenging for her right now. She will sit with help but gets confused and concerned, and “stay” is a long way off because she is so eager to be near you. Her new family can help her by continuing positive‑reinforcement training, focusing on clear, consistent cues, loose‑leash walking, and building her confidence around new sounds, stairs, and environments. She also benefits from routines that make her feel secure, especially since she can get nervous in new or loud situations.

Millie is full of cozy, cookie‑esque quirks that make her feel like a warm, sleepy hug with legs. Her tail never stops wagging, even when she is half asleep. She can turn a bad day around just by leaning into your lap and looking up with soft eyes. She occasionally watches TV for a few seconds before getting distracted. She gently snores in her sleep and loves her routine: an early morning walk, breakfast, affection, a long nap, following you around, a pre‑dinner walk, more food, and evening snuggles before a bedtime treat. She is a bit of a shadow, paws for attention, and can get overexcited by squirrels, barking when she sees them or when crated and unable to reach other dogs. She is not destructive and settles well when given a safe, quiet space.

Sociability: Very friendly with all people, gentle and wiggly with strangers, and dogs who would appreciate her snorts.
Energy: Medium but leans low; enjoys two neighborhood walks a day plus pee break, prefers a quiet to mildly active home, not highly athletic.
Quirks: Tail never stops wagging (even in her sleep) and lightly snores in her sleep.
Training Needs: Continued general obedience. Crate‑trainable but barks when crated.
Medical Needs: Still working on clearing ear and skin infection, but this may be long term management for a dog like her.
