GOOD WITH HUMANS (ADULTS AND KIDS) AND DOGS

  • Baby Teddy with the ears is ready to find her family! Born October 11, 2025, this little St. Bernard x and her sister Bear where found shivering in the cold temps of northern Manitoba and brought to safety with the help of our friends @manitobaanimalalliance. Teddy has been lapping up these balmy southern Ontario temperatures and decompressing with her fosters, and now it’s time for her next adventure!

If Teddy could design her perfect day, it would go something like this: wake up early because she loves to eat and morning = breakfast, go for a quick walk and pick a toy to play with on her daybed before enjoying her first nap of the day … rinse, lather, repeat until bedtime and you’ve got one happy lady! The cherry on top would be extra time outside to play in the snow. As a true northern pup, Teddy can’t contain her excitement when the snow piles up and is regularly overcome with the strong desire to zoomie. Nothing can stop her when the zoomies hit, so we know Teddy would love a home with a backyard (“the bigger, the better,” she says!) where she can safely roam and play! And though she loves her outdoor time, Teddy is very content to snuggle up with her fosters on the couch – she’s always looking for body contact! – and snooze the afternoon away!

Teddy is still a baby so she’s working on most of the basics. She’s already sitting on command and practicing her leash skills! Like most first-timers she zigzags, but we know she’ll shape up in no time. Teddy hasn’t shown a prey drive so far, unless you count a plastic bag or Timmy’s cup as prey! Teddy is also finessing her potty training. She’s had a few accidents in the house (her fosters leave a pee pad out just in case!) but she’s improving on the daily. She’s doing very well with crate training: she easily sleeps for six-hour stretches overnight and is crated for a few hours at a time during the day. Teddy is rarely left alone as her foster works from home, so she’s used to company 24/7. She was left alone once (30 minutes) and settled after only five minutes of whining, but with continued practice, we know Teddy can build up a bigger tolerance to solo time!

When it comes to socializing, Teddy is all ears … and always ready to make a friend! She’s been very friendly to her fosters’ friends (they won her over with treats!), including kiddos. A note of caution: Teddy is still learning to manage her excitement and keep her sharp puppy teeth to herself, so time spent with kids must be supervised! Teddy is very smart and eager to make friends, so a family with puppy-savvy youngsters would be a great fit. Teddy’s encounters with other dogs have been limited to her walks (she currently favours older dogs and smaller dogs) but will say hi to any canine who seems approachable!

Teddy is microchipped and has received her first round of puppy shots. She has some possible allergies and received a cytopoint injection for itchiness. Teddy’s adoption fee will include her remaining puppy shots and spay at six months.

If you’re looking for an extra snuggly Teddy to keep you warm during these snowy days, this is the gal for you!
